EL6804 - The Wilkinson cavalry sword of Frederick Anthony Hulme Part. He commissioned into the 20th Hussars in November 1900 and served in the Second Anglo Boer War. He retired his commission (having formerly transferred to the 8th Hussars) in 1903, but joined the Leicestershire Yeomanry. When WW1 started, he and the Yeomanry were called up, and in 1915 he was slightly wounded in action and invalided home for a short time, before recovering and returning back to the Front. He retired from Leicestershire Yeomanry in 1920. He died in 1950, at age 68. The sword is in good overall condition, the blade bright and firm in the hilt. The hilt plating in good order and the grip shagreen and wire very good. Complete with service scabbard and sword knot, with service sharpening to the blade, this sword appears now as it would have done when being carried in the Boer War. Lots more research potential.
