EL6552 - WW1 1897 pattern Royal Engineers officer's sword by Wilkinson, numbered to 1915 and identified to officer James William Tomlinson. A top quality Wilkinson of WW1, with Tomlinson's initials etched on the blade (he commissioned on 23 May 1915). The hilt and scabbard with light surface rust, which should respond well to cleaning. Blade in excellent condition and service sharpened for war. Complete with steel scabbard. A lovely sword which would greatly benefit from a clean up and some more research.
