Product Details

EL6299 - An early-20th century (probably WW1 era) Royal Naval officer's sword (1846 pattern, but with narrower blade as per early-20th century tendency). This sword is very tidy in parts and needing attention in others. The hilt is very clean, with bright white shagreen and good grip wire. The original sword knot remained in place. The blade has elaborate and good quality etching, but is rather worn, with corrosion patches, especially at the tip. The scabbard is complete, but the leather has shrunk and there is an obstruction in the chape, meaning that the sword will not fully sheath (by about an inch - pictured). Priced accordingly.
