EL6812 - A good Victorian Royal Artillery officer's sword, retailed by Barton of the Strand, London, with the officer's initials and crest etched on the blade. The blade with good detailed and deep etching, 34.5 inches long in total, firm in the hilt with no movement. There is a slight bend at the tip. The blade looks like it was probably service sharpened at one point. The hilt with patina and some pitting to the guard and back piece. The shagreen with a little bit of loss, with all the copper grip wire present. The scabbard with rust and patina overall. A big solid sword of cavalry proportions. I have not researched the initials or crest, but there is a good chance of matching it to an officer from the Army Lists.
