EL6943 - A Victorian Rifle Volunteers officer's sword with a very good blade. The hilt with dark patina (probably originally blued), the grip shagreen and wire very good, the absolute highlight is the blade, with much original mirror polish and frost etching. Clearly etched as being for the Rifle Volunteers, this sword probably dates to c.1860-1875. The blade and hilt are solid and firm, with no movement. Complete in original scabbard.
