Product Details

EL6326 - A mid-Victorian infantry officer's sword, retailed by Parker & Smith of Brighton, with the officer's initials etched on the blade. I have not tried to work out the initials or identify the officer, but it looks like the surname may begin "Mc". The sword is in average condition, completely untouched and uncleaned, requiring some light cleaning. The blade is a mixture of bright, with dark patina patches, the etching reasonably clear in most parts. The hilt is in good condition, with nice patina to the brass - there is a little bit of movement in the guard, but the rest of the hilt is tight on the tang. The leather washer remains and it is complete with the original scabbard. A fun research challenge awaits with this one, with the initials on the blade and the unusual Brighton outfitter.
