Product Details

EL6211 - A mid-Victorian infantry officer's sword (1845 pattern), by Thurkle. This sword is in really good condition, with a bright, finely-etched blade. The blade has a couple of small nicks and a couple of small areas of staining, but is otherwise very good. It is firm in the hilt, although there is a tiny bit of movement in the brass guard. The guard, backstrap and shagreen grip are in good condition, together with the brass scabbard. This sword is particularly light and nimble in the hand. There is no maker or retailer's name on the ricasso, but the proof slug is that of the Thurkle dynasty of London.
