EL6529 - A very good Victorian infantry officer's sword, retailed by Hawkes (possibly made by Pillin). The blade is excellent and of unusually large size for an infantry officer's sword, being a massive 35 inches long. Most of the original polish remaining and very crisp etching. Not service sharpened. Totally firm hilt on the tang. The hilt in good condition, though with patina, which could be polished if desired. Grip shagreen good, though missing most of the wire. Complete in original scabbard, which has some surface rust in need of attention. A good quality sword, with an excellent blade, just in need of some cleaning.
