Product Details

EL6520 - A mysterious cutlass made by F. Horster of Solingen (before 1875 therefore), marked for Indian service, to a pattern that is rather similar to British coast guard cutlasses. The outer bar of the guard has been removed, either deliberately or by accident. The hilt is an alloy like bronze, and the blade has been service sharpened. Apart from the broken outer bar to the guard and the dark patina to the blade, the condition is quite good and everything is solid and tight. An intriguing sword which should be fun to research.
