Product Details
EL6974 - An 1895 pattern infantry officer's sword, made by Wilkinson and retailed by Manton, for a British officer in the Indian Army. Marked VRI to the hilt, showing Indian service, and carrying the most famous trade slug used by Wilkinson for contract orders in this period. The 1895 pattern was only made in 1895-1896, and the blade is service sharpened for active service, housed in a field service scabbard. The blade is firm in the hilt, the plating to the guard is mostly very good, and the grip shagreen and wire is very good. The blade has some rubbing and patina, but is quite good.
