ELC1051 - A Victorian Highland regiment officer's broadsword, with cross-hilt fitted. Probably dates to the 1880s, when these cross-hilts came into vogue for field service. Some light pitting to blade and hilt. A little bit of loss to the grip shagreen. The hilt a little loose on the hilt. The blade has been service sharpened. No scabbard. Feels good in the hand and Victorian examples of these cross-hilted 'claymores' are not very common at all.
