Product Details

EL6227 - A good quality Pillin-made Victorian 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword (dating to 1897-1901), etched to the Volunteer Battalion of the East Yorkshire Regiment. Retailed by Samuel Brothers of London, the blade is bright with detailed crisp etching, with a few stained patches (pictured) near the tip. The blade is firm in the hilt and the hilt is all in good condition, with bright plating to the guard and backstrap, the shagreen and wire of the grip good. With field service scabbard, which is rather worn and the leather dry and flaking.
