EL6298 - A mid-Victorian artillery officer's sword by Curry of Helstone. Blade in mostly high original polish and crisp etching, with some few corrosion spots, the metalwork of the hilt in dark patina. The shagreen and grip wire good. The hilt firm on the tang. With matching scabbard, which has been painted black, probably in period. An attractive sword with an early shape to the 1821 pattern hilt and a blade that is more curved than normal.
