EL6887 - A mid to late-Victorian 1845 pattern infantry officer's sword by Edward Thurkle. Blade clean with light patina and a few slight dings in the edge, clear and crisp etching. The hilt in good shape, with the rarer checkered thumb-placer on the backpiece and good shagreen and grip wire. There is a bit of lateral movement in the guard due to the loss of the leather washer, though the rest of the hilt is firm on the tang. Complete with original buff sword knot and steel scabbard.
