EL6587 - A unique West Yorkshire artillery officer's sword, featuring a steel 'gothic' style hilt with VR cypher, from retailer Smalpage & Sons of Leeds (maker unknown, as the proof slug is not present). The officer's initials are also on the blade, so some research in the army lists might turn up the officer. The normal artillery sword featured 3 bars, but this officer obviously had specific ideas and instead ordered a steel gothic hilt, as found on rifles officer's sword, but with the Victoria Regina cypher instead of the rifles horn. The sword is in excellent condition, with original polish to the blade, bright hilt and everything solid. No scabbard. A lovely and unusual sword with research potential.
