EL6448 - A US M1840 NCOs sword by Ames, dated 1864, with scabbard. In good condition but in need of some light cleaning, this example has the bonus of having the scabbard still. These scabbards often don't survive, due to the flimsy nature of the leather, and this scabbard does have a couple of weak points in the dried out leather (pictured), which should be treated delicately. The leather is almost split through at one point, and the stitching has come open at the back. Nevertheless, the scabbard is complete for restoration.
