ELF115 - Scarce Indian Army cavalry sabre, circa 1910. 33 inch slightly curved blade, well service sharpened. Hardwood grip, with central checkered diamond shape, and carved cup inset for the thumb placement. The blade is bright and clean with little spots of patina, completely firm in the hilt. The 3 bar 1821 pattern style guard and distinctive pommel cap, with some black rust spots and patina. While research on these Indian Army swords is scant, it is thought that these are from around 1905-1918, perhaps with design influence from the 1908 pattern British cavalry sword.
