EL6736 - Scarce Georgian hanger by Woolley, Sargant & Fairfax (dating to 1826-1834). These hangers are for an general militia purposes. There are a number of them in the Royal Armouries, and they were sold in boxes together with muskets and pistols, for providing to militia and other forces. 30 inch blade with modified tip and false edge (changed in period, it seems), cast iron grip and brass guard. All solid and sharpened, with the leather washer still in place. No scabbard.
