EL6669 - A scarce French M1816 light cavalry sword for restoration. Extensive rust and pitting to the blade, but the hilt solid on the tang and with the original leather washer still intact. Patina to the brass guard and pommel, but grip and leather in quite good condition. A scarce model of sword, only in widespread use in the French Army during the Restoration between 1816 and 1822. This pipeback model probably influenced other swords across Europe, including the British 1821 and 1822.
