Product Details

EL6251 - An Austrian M1824 heavy cavalry sword (pallasch) by Fischer and dated to 1832. These hefty swords (1005g) share a common heritage to the British 1796 heavy cavalry sword and the relationship is clear to see (the British sword was based on earlier Austrian models). This example is all complete with its heavy duty scabbard and the imposing 34 inch blade has been service sharpened (and has some small edge nicks). The blade is fairly bright and is firm in the hilt. The guard is in good shape, with a very tiny bit of movement. The leather has a little bit of loss, pictures, but the grip overall is in good condition compared to other surviving examples. A relatively scarce sword and a really interesting piece.
