EL6833 - A good Victorian Royal Scots Fusiliers officer's sword (post-1881), with field service cross-hilt fitted. Retailed by Cater of Pall Mall, London, and made by Thurkle. The blade bright and with good etching, though there are a few patches of pitting (pictured). The blade firm in the hilt. The hilt is fitted with the removeable nut, so that a basket hilt can be fitted instead. The hilt, including the plated guard and pommel, and shagreen and wire grip, are in excellent condition. Complete in original field service scabbard, still with the Sam Browne frog fitted.
