EL6255 - A Rifles officer's sword, made by Pillin (according to the proof slug) and retailed by Ranken of Calcutta. Therefore almost certainly for a British or Indian officer serving in the Indian Army, around the 1870s or 1880s. The regulation 32 inch blade is unusually straight and the regulation hilt has good quality shagreen and silver grip wire. Overally condition good. Everything tight. No scabbard.
