EL6575 - A rare Rifles officer's sword, for a Scottish regiment, made by Thurkle and retailed by Cater of London, featuring a Highland claymore style blade. It would be tempting to assign this to a Scottish volunteer rifles corps, but the double-fullered claymore blade has been seriously service sharpened, so it was presumably taken on active service. Adding to this impression is the unusual black leather covering that has been added to the steel scabbard. A light and nimble sword, all solid and sound, in untouched condition, with research potential.
