EL6467 - A rare French cavalry officer's sword, in the 'fantaisie' style (see my article on the Research page). A slender 35 inch blade, of canular form, in bright polish. The bronze hilt fittings in bright condition, black horn grip and wire in place. Very slight movement to the hilt on the tang. These were expensive non-regulation swords for fashionable French cavalry officers, popular between c.1890 and 1918.
