Product Details

EL6391 - Rare 1892 pattern infantry officer's sword, by Pillin (retailed by Hobson), with the officer's initials on the blade. This is a top quality example, in very good condition, with only a few cosmetic issues. The blade is largely in original high mirror polish, with very clear etching, though there are a few corrosion spots here and there, and there is some pitting on both sides of the tip (pictured), which could potentially be polished out. Apart from this, the sword is in lovely condition, with some gilt remaining on the hilt, the shagreen and grip wire good, and even the original sword knot still in place. I have not researched the initials to try and identify the officer, but this holds lots of potential. The sword dates to 1892-1895.
