EL6811 - A Prussian M1889 infantry officer's sword 'degen', made by Alexander Coppel of Solingen. The blade is good condition, with all the nickel plating in mirror finish. A few small dings to the unsharpened edge. The hilt in generally good condition with patina, with the leather finger loop and original sword knot still present. The outer leather washer has gone, and so there is some movement in the hilt components due to the loss of compression. The grip is in good condition with all the shagreen and wire. The scabbard has been painted gold for some reason, but otherwise is in reasonable condition.
