Product Details

EL6368 - A very good 1796 pattern infantry officer's spadroon, by Osborn, with blued blade. Osborn were a top level maker of the day and it shows on this example, which is of more robust proportions than many examples, and features a beautifully blued and engraved blade, with a high percentage of the blue remaining. The rest of the blade is in good polish, with just a few inches on one side of rust staining (which could be restored, as it's not on the blued section). The gilt brass hilt is in good condition, and the silver grip covering is in excellent condition. The scabbard is also present, though missing the throat section unfortunately.
