EL6672 - A top quality 1803 Grenadier Company officer's sabre by Osborn & Gunby. A lovely example from one of the top makers of the period, in need of some careful restoration. The blade is quite clean on one side, with good engraving, while the other side has areas of encrusted concretion from light rust (on the surface - I believe it should be possible to clean this back carefully). The hilt is in good condition with horn grip and wire, and some gilt remaining to the brass/bronze guard and backpiece. There is a little bit of movement in the hilt on the tang. A great top quality example of the pattern by this desirable maker, with flaming grenade and patriotic emblems. No scabbard.
