EL6826 - A good Napoleonic 1796 pattern light cavalry officer's sword, with the remains of blue and gilt decoration. Regulation blade size and shape, but enhanced at extra expense with blue and gilt decoration, incorporating patriotic motifs, including the Union Flag and George III cypher. Leather covered grip in fair condition, with only a little bit of loss at each end, and most of the silver wire remaining. The grip and backpiece are tight and firm on the tang, though the stirrup-guard does have a little lateral movement, as the leather washer has contracted with age. One langet is missing from the guard. No scabbard. A very nice sword that feels great in the hand.
