EL6728 - Napoleonic era British 1796 pattern infantry officer's spadroon by Runkel. A good quality sword that seems to have had an interesting life, with a few small nicks to the edge, obviously from another sharp sword, and all the signs of wear from active service. The blade was clearly blue and gilt originally, and you can still see the remains of this, as well as the rather worn engraving. So this was an expensive and good quality sword, presumably carried during the Napoleonic Wars. There is some movement in the guard and the tip has a bit of an s-bend, but the blade retains a good springy temper, so I have not tried to remove this and it is fairly subtle. The hinged guard section is in good condition, but the spring is a little floppy.
