EL6457 - An excellent mid-Victorian infantry officer's sword, 1845 pattern, by Wilkinson. Numbered 11414, the Wilkinson records apparently state that this sword was sold to W. S. Jolliffe, Esq. in July 1861, however I have not researched this further and do not have a copy of the record. However, the blade is etched with initials that seem to match. The sword is in superb condition and has obviously been coated with varnish at some point, which has subsequently been removed, leaving a little residue in the recesses of the etching, but having protected the blade wonderfully. Everything is solid and in great condition. The scabbard is also complete and fits well. A great example with research potential.
