EL6720 - A mid-Victorian infantry officer's sword by Thurkle, named to J. L. Lee of the Lancashire Fusiliers. The blade is very bright, having been nickel plated, and in good condition. The sword retailed by Linney, but made by Benjamin Thurkle, according to the proof slug. Everything complete and in good shape on the sword, the folding drop working well, and a good grip. The steel scabbard has (unusually) been leather covered and the rings removed, for use with a later Sam Browne belt frog, so it was probably in service for quite a while - unfortunately this leather covering has suffered with age (pictured), but it is still an interesting feature that can be stabilised.
