Product Details

EL6300 - A very good condition Wilkinson Rifle Volunteers officer's sword, numbered 13578 (for 1864) and named to H. S. Bryant Esq. Bryant was recorded as an Ensign in the 22nd Middlesex Rifles in 1869 and he resigned his commission in 1872, which explains the very good condition of the sword. There are a number of unusual features to this sword, including the brown leather scabbard, mounted with highly polished fittings. The hilt remains in high polish, which just a few rust/corrosion marks, and the blade is in stunningly good condition, all in bright original polish. The Henry Wilkinson etching is rather unusual (not a common 'embosser', as you can see on the proof record attached), with a different style to most blades of this time. Everything is complete, solid and sound. A fantastic example of the model.
