EL6284 - A mid-Victorian light cavalry officer's sword and scabbard. Unknown maker, but good quality (perhaps Reeves). The hilt and scabbard are dark with patina and with light pitting all over, but the blade is in very good condition and everything is solid and tight. Detailed and clear etching, leather washer in place and it sheaths well. The shagreen has some wear and a little loss, but is otherwise firm on the wooden core, with the grip wire all present and tight. Would benefit from gentle restoration. A big imposing sword and feels good in the hand.
