EL6320 - A lovely Wilkinson infantry officer's sword, numbered 22973 (for 1879), with the officer's initials etched on the blade. I have not researched this sword to see if I can match it to an officer in the Army Lists. The blade is in good condition with a clean blade and deep etching, firm in the hilt. The brass guard and backstrap with nice untouched patina. The shagreen and grip wire in good condition (just a couple of strands of the wire missing). Complete with scabbard, which is rather pitted and could do with cleaning. A good example of the pattern by the top maker, with research potential.
