EL6886 - A very nice 1845 pattern infantry officer's sword, retailed by Marshall of London. Featuring the scarce original blade leather lining to the hilt, as well as the original infantry officer's sword knot. With the brass scabbard, this was probably for an officer of Field Rank (Major or above). The blade is clean and bright, with fine etching. The hilt is in good condition with excellent shagreen and grip wire. There is a little bit of movement in the hilt, due to the loss of the leather washer, which could be reinstated. A few very small dings in the edge, which has not been service sharpened.
