EL6718 - An 1821 pattern light cavalry trooper's sword by Osborn. Becoming more difficult to find now, this is a fairly good example, but with two flaws, namely that the scabbard is absent and the tip is slightly blunted/rounded. The tip could be restored with some careful work. The leather of the grip is rather worn, and about 50% present, but otherwise the sword is in quite good condition. The blade is mostly bright (needing a clean) and the hilt is firm on the tang. Osborn is a desirable maker and his name is visible on the spine, as well as a proof/approval mark on the ricasso. A good sword, in need of a little cleaning.
