Product Details

EL6138 - An Edward Thurkle-made Royal Artillery officer's sword, dating to the 1880s, with scabbard. The imposing 35 inch blade is in good condition with a bright surface and clear, crisp etching, including the Royal Engineers motif and officer's initials (unresearched). The blade is solid in the hilt and has been service sharpened near the tip only, on front and back edges. The plating on the hilt is rather worn with some loss, but in general the hilt it in decent condition. The shagreen only has a little loss and the silver grip wire is all present. The original leather sword knot and Sam Browne scabbard complete the set.
