EL6261 - Late-Victorian Rifles officer's sword retailed by Phillips and made by Thurkle. In good condition overall, with the nickel plating mostly bright and in original mirror finish. Some areas of bubbling and crazing to the plating. The blade in very good condition, with stark mirror polish and contrasting frost etching. The guard bright, shagreen very good and silver grip wire present. The hilt firm on the tang and leather washer in place. This sword carried the post-1895 backstrap, but Queen Victoria's cypher, so dates to 1895-1901.
