EL6785 - A late-Victorian British 'lead cutter' sword feats, as featured in John Musgrave Waite's treatise. This is a lovely big example, probably equivalent to a number 3 in weight and size, with a 30 inch blade, and unusual brass grips to a full width patent tang. Possibly made by Mole of Birmingham, but there are no markings now visible. While the sword is generally in good condition, please note that the blade has been repaired, probably in period. I have pictured the weld in the blade, and it presumably broke during cutting practice. It does all seem solid and sound now, as a collectors' piece, and possibly was still used after this repair, but it is a significant repair. Priced accordingly.
