EL6805 - A good Italian M1871 cavalry troopers' sword in scabbard. A very nice example, with a brightly polished blade, service sharpened, firm in the hilt, and good condition hardwood grip. Hilt with the characteristic hand stop and thumb recess in the guard. The scabbard has the earlier double ring configuration, rather than the common later WW1 era single ring scabbard seen so often. Patina to the hilt and scfabbard as expected of the age. The forte of the blade carries the official marking of Gnutti and Sons, who were based in Brescia, Italy.
