EL6671 - A good 1796 pattern infantry officer's spadroon by J. J. Runkel of Solingen. Runkel was one of the foremost sellers of swords in Britain during the Napoleonic Wars, and was importing blades from his connections in Solingen. This is a good quality example, with quality engraving to both sides of the blade. The hilt is firm on the tang, with detailed and good condition brass furniture and pleasingly rectangular cross-section grip, bound in silver wire. All remains in good condition and is firm. No scabbard.
