EL6210 - A George VI era 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword, in parade condition. This is a curious sword, as it carried the Wilkinson Sword Company hexagonal best quality proof slug, but is not marked to Wilkinson in any other way. The retailer space on the ricasso is blank and the serial number on the spine does not relate to Wilkinson's numbering system. I suspect that it was made on contract by Wilkinson and sound through an outfitters. The overall condition is very good to excellent, being almost entirely in very high original polish, with clear etching. The scabbard is also in parade condition. The only negatives I can think to mention are that one strand of the rip wire is a little loose and there is a little staining towards the tip of the blade (but not enough to be noticed on parade, I think).
