Product Details

EL6761 - A George V era infantry officer's sword 1897 pattern, retailed by Hamburger and made by Mole of Birmingham. A good quality sword, of robust construction and all structurally solid, but in neglected condition. The blade is good, with only light patina and a few bits of pitting, with very nicely detailed and deep etching. The hilt however has various cosmetic issue, namely that the shagreen is lifting in a couple of places and the guard and back piece have lost their plating and have damp-related patina. These could all be improved though, and it is a good quality sword in solid condition. The scabbard is present, but very worn.
