EL6780 - George IV era general staff officer's sword. A scarce model of sword in general, but especially from George IV's reign, this sword dates to 1822-1830. Having a slender blade, but not as slender as a piquet weight example, relatively undecorated except for the shallow etching showing the monarch's cypher and some foliage. The general staff officer emblem on the brass guard, and the folding drop section works correctly. The grip in fairly good condition, with all the grip wire, and the hilt quite firm on the tang, with only a tiny bit of perceptible movement evident. No scabbard (this would have been leather with brass fittings).
