EL6705 - A George IV 1821 pattern light cavalry officer's sword and scabbard. No maker evident, but a good early example dating to the 1820s. Clean and bright blade, clearly etched to both sides with the George IV cypher. Dark patina and light pitting to the hilt and scabbard, which could be carefully improved a little. The grip is good, except for missing the lowest section of shagreen, but the silver wire is intact. There is a little bit of movement in the wooden grip on the tang. Sheathes well in the scabbard, which clearly matches the blade. The blade is particularly good on this example.
