EL6832 - A French ANXI (Napoleonic) Cuirassier's blade, with the updated M1854 hilt. This blade would have seen service during the Napoleonic Wars - the regiments updated their hilts (and sometimes entire swords) in 1816, and then again in 1854, when the new designs were introduced. Many regiments just updated the hilts and kept the older blades to cut costs. This blade is marked as having been made in Klingenthal, and I think the date reads 1811. The blade has light pitting and patina, and the tip is a little rounded, but it is in generally good condition and is solid in the hilt. The hilt is in good condition for the age, the brass is all in good shape and the leather grip covering is complete. No scabbard.
