EL6385 - An excellent 19th Lancashire Volunteer Artillery officer's sword, named on the spine to Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peacock. The sword is in overall very good condition, with an excellent blade in original mirror polish with frost etching. I suspect that the sword was made by Reeves, from the style of etching and quality of finish (and the proof slug). The hilt and scabbard have patina and traces of paint which seems to be from the sword's service life. The construction is all solid. Lieut-Colonel Peacock seems to have been the son of engineer Richard Peacock: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Peacock
