EL6626 - A Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) officer's sword (for an Army doctor), from Edward VII's reign (1901-1910), and carrying the officer's initials etched on the blade (so probably identifiable with research). Made by Pillin and retailed by Hobson. The blade has been extensively service sharpened and remains quite sharp, probably either for the end of the Second Anglo Boer War, or for WW1. The blade has patina, which could be brightened with some work, and very nice detailed etching, including the RAMC emblem and motto. The hilt is firm on the tang, and while the grip is quite good, the whole sword could do with some careful cleaning and care. Complete with original steel scabbard.
