EL6248 - An Edward VII era (1901-1910) Rifles Officer's sword, probably made for the trade by Wilkinson according to the proof slug. In high polish with good plating, in a field service scabbard which is rather worn and with the end drag missing. The sword itself is in lovely condition, with a bright blade and detailed etching, firm in the hilt. The guard, backstrap and pommel bright. The shagreen is a bit worn near the pommel end. The sword is of narrower than normal proportions, but not as narrow/light as a piquet weight version, so presumably this officer just wanted something a bit more nimble.
